Belian is a very dense hardwood native to South-East Asia from the island areas of Malaysia throughout Indonesia and the Philippines and is one of the most durable in the world. Despite its high density, Belian is easy to work with and produces a smooth and often lustrou surface. It is also reported as being immune to termite attacks. |
