    • Solid Hardwoods floors are one solid piece of wood which has either Tongue & Grooved Sides (T&G) or Surfaced Four Sides (S4S). The most commonly used timber flooring in Malaysia is Merbau & Burmese Teak.

  5. Can I get consistency on Solid Timber Flooring?

    • The solid hardwood flooring & finishing in your home are made up of many pieces of wood. No tree is exactly alike and no pieces of wood looks just like another, so you may notice natural variations in color. The lighter pieces were closer to the tree's bark, while the darker pieces were closer to its center. All are equally strong & impart the beauty and value that make hardwoods second to none.
  6. What is the maintenance like for solid timber flooring?

    • Basically, for daily maintenance - you are required to only use dry mop to clean the flooring 2-3 times a week.
    • For long term maintenance - depending on your flooring how badly is it damage, you can either do sanding & varnishing or grinding varnishing 5 to 7 years once. For offices / gym / dancing studio etc. - it is more advisable to do grinding & varnishing 2 to 3 years once as there is more traffic and usage of the floor compared to home users.
  7. How often can the Solid Timber Flooring be sanded / grinded?

    • In general, grinding normally remove about 0.5mm to 1mm of the timber strips from the surface depending on the type of flooring or the floor level. For the 18mm thick floor products, it has 7mm of wood above the tongue, therefore, we are able to sand / grind 7 to 10 times or more before the timber strips reach the a depth where the top of the groove edge is weakened.
  8. How long does it take to complete, if I plan to install Solid Timber Flooring?

    • 2 ½ to 3 weeks from the date of delivery (depending on the area size of the site)
      Example:
         Area Size: 1,000 sq.ft.
         Installation: 3 to 5 days
         Cooling of Period: Minimum 10 days (For your floor acclimate to its surroundings)
         Grinding & Varnishing: 2 to 3 days

  10. If I purchase the solid timber flooring product from your company, who will installing my flooring?

  12. In my previous home, there are gaps between the timber strips laid on my floor, why does this happen and how to avoid this?

    • During the hot months of the year, there is a lot of humidity in the air. Your wood flooring soaks up this humidity and it expands. To avoid this scenario to happen, normally, we would recommend to keep the room at a constant 45% humidity level using your air conditioner. Also, prior to installation, the timber floors to be left to acclimate the surrounding the longer the better.
